What is a fanlisting?

A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are); they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.

About Cat

Cat is the cute, furry, and very orange pet of Audrey Hepburn's character, Miss Holly Golightly, in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's. The classic movie draws its inspiration from Truman Capote's masterful novella of the same name. Holly Golightly is one of the most memorable and famous movie characters of all time. But the movie just would not be the same without the darling Cat.

We are introduced to Cat in the second scene of the movie. He is lying on top of Holly, who is sound asleep. The doorbell rings, and Cat paws at Holly gently, trying to wake her up. In that same scene, we learn that Holly and Cat "took up by the river one day," and that Holly refuses to name Cat until she finds a place where she "and things go together." Since Holly feels she can't name her pet, she simply calls him "Cat." She also referrs to him as "Poor Slob."

About the Name

The name of this fanlisting, Without a Name, was inspired by one of Holly's lines in the movie. She calls Cat a "poor slob without a name." I thought it would be odd to name the fanlisting for a nameless cat, so I chose a name that wasn't a name.
